New Compound-words with Numerals in the first part
Kobylková, Eva ; Bozděchová, Ivana (advisor) ; Adam, Robert (referee)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the use of numerals in the first part of new (neology) compound-words. Compound-words were excerpted from dictionaries Slovník neologizmů 1, 2 and from the Czech neology database Neomat. On the basis of that material it was described which particular numerals and which types of numerals are used in neologisms, which formal restrictions and variants in word-formation bases (such as the origin of language of second parts, competition of morpheme variants) can occur. Compound-words were assessed with regard to their word-class validity, way of word-formation and semantic-syntactic relations between their components. The second parts of compound-words were also considered, as well as the thematic sphere of use of compound-words and their potential marked character. Keywords: neologism, compound-word, numeral, word-formation
